Meet Lucky 🍀
Big, handsome, and full of joy, that’s Lucky! This 1-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix weighs in at 80 lbs of love and loyalty.
Lucky is great with cats, dogs, and kids, making him a wonderful companion for just about any home. He’s not quite potty trained yet, but he is crate trained for mealtimes and is eager to learn more with a family who can guide him.
Lucky’s story began when his mom was abandoned and found her way to the safety of a foster home, where she gave birth to nine puppies. Lucky is the last of that first litter, and he’s been a loyal big brother to his younger siblings ever since. When they get a little too rowdy, Lucky shows off his smarts by hopping onto the dog house for a break, but don’t worry, he still loves them all.
This beautiful boy is all white and has a joyful, gentle spirit. His cutest skill? He can sit still like a statue the moment a leash is put on him. He loves tug toys, head rubs, and most of all, being around people who care about him.
Lucky is waiting for a family who will see what a gem he is and give him the forever home he deserves. Go ahead and submit an adoption application for him now!
✨ Favorite toy: Anything to tug on
✨ Best rub spot: The top of his head
✨ Fun fact: He’s “joyish” and he knows it!

Something to Consider:
Puppies don't train themselves
If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.
Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.
