I am tiny but mighty, and I am an absolute diva! My brothers and I were bottle babies.  We are lucky to have two foster moms! Our first mom fought long and hard for us to survive with very little sleep.  We bonded with her as we were bottle fed.  Once we got a grasp of eating canned kitten food we moved in with our second mom to fatten us up!  I am a choosy eater, but once I pick what I like, I eat well!



I play well with other kitties! I take a while to warm up to humans.  I might hide but eventually come out and play.  I love to run in and out of kitty tunnels, pull at shoe laces, kick balls around and bat at toys.  Being brushed or combed is tolerated, even weekly nail trims, but being held and pet is ALWAYS a MUST do. Once you have me in your arms you can cradle me like a baby.  Although my foster family loves me lots, and my siblings too, I am ready for my furever home.

If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.

Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.

Puppies don't train themselves

This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”

If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.

The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.
