Some basic information about us; we are Labrador Retriever mix puppies and will be medium-sized (20-59lbs) when full grown!

Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX)
Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Hey, I'm Dan Dan, THE SEALY MAN!
My foster mom named me Sealy Dan because I love to arf, ruff and bork like a big ol' seal. 

Luckily for me, I haven't had it too ruff in life and I have a happy, bouncy demeanor to show for it. I had a great home with lots of kitties and a loving owner who spent all day with me! We had some amazing years and tons of fun together. Over those years though, I noticed I wasn't the only one getting older. My elderly owner eventually passed and I had no one left in the world to love me! Thanks to the powers of social media, a foster stepped up and took me to my new, temporary home.

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but I'm learning A LOT lately. I'm in a new city, with a totally new schedule and expectations, and these new things like me called...DOGS! I am currently a little too bouncy and humpy for the other dogs' liking but they correct me and I listen...sometimes. Even when I'm just too happy to stop I am never mean to them and foster mom steps in so they don't hurt me either. I may calm down once I get "the snip", but I'm generally good with dogs that will tolerate me.

I've also had to learn about this thing called "kennel". I used to HATE kennel and would fight it so much my nose got owies on it. Over a few weeks though, I have learned to go in on my own and am getting MUCH better with not crying or jumping around when inside. I was so used to my previous owner being home all day so I am still adjusting and working on not being anxious when I'm alone. I'm not destructive when I am alone, I just bark a lot.

I am a good boy and know never to go potty in my crate or the house in general. I may not be the most distinguished of old men but I definitely have some manners. Given my borky nature, I would not be the best fit for an apartment unless someone is usually home. Otherwise, I'd be a great fit for just about anyone. I'm a goofy guy who loves to loooove and have fun but I'm also still older and don't need hours of exercise or stimulation. Won't you bring home this ol' sea dog?

I used to be the awkward duckling in the pond, but now I've blossomed into a beautiful young lady!

I was kinda a chubby pup who constantly outgrew her collars, but now I'm a grown lady who's beautiful and perfect!

I am an interesting mix of American Pitbull Terrier and Shepherd, meaning I'm full of energy and focus! In addition I have so much love to give, although sometimes I am a bit shy. 

I always have a great big smile on my face and my ears are perked up ready to explore!

I really want to find a loving family to take care of me and play with me! Please consider me!

<p>If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.</p>


Puppies don't train themselves

<p>This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”</p>

<p>If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.</p>
