Hi, I’m Blackie, and I’ve been TRICKED.
Picture this: my friends grab my leash, and I’m like, “HECK YES, it’s car ride time!” I'm all tail wags and smiles, because obviously we’re headed for a pup cup and maybe some people-watching or a nap.
But no. No whipped cream. No snack. No nap.
They took me to an AGILITY COURSE.Excuse me—a what?!
You want me to do what now? Run, jump, climb things like some kind of goat? I'm not sure about this! I'm thinking we go back home, get on the couch and watch movies.
But then… they busted out a sweet potato treat. And well, I LOVE sweet potato treats!
So I did it. I ran, I jumped, I conquered. I ate all the treats! It was kinda fun. I would do it again for my person and of course sweet potato treats!
Now listen—if you’re the type who loves a hike, a walk, some splashy pool time, and the occasional moment of zoomies, I’m your dog. If you’re more of a “let’s wear PJs and watch Netflix” type—guess what? I’m STILL your dog.
I’ve been with the rescue since I was a puppy. I’ve waited patiently. I’m so ready for my forever home. Could it be yours?

Something to Consider:

  • Puppies don't train themselves

If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.

Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.

  • Puppies turn into dogs...
