Maverick and his brother Goose were rescued just in time while crossing a street. Since arriving at his foster home, Maverick has been learning all about what it means to be a beloved pet — and he's loving it! We think this may have been his first time ever living inside a home, but you’d never guess it now.
Maverick is a quick learner and has already figured out how fun toys can be — especially squeaky ones! He’s also a big fan of comfy dog beds and following his foster mom everywhere she goes. He’s housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and gets along great with other dogs.
He’s still brushing up on a few manners, like keeping his paws off the counter and learning not to climb all over you for affection — but who can blame him for wanting attention? He’s working hard on basic commands like sit, come, and down, and picks things up quickly when treats are involved.
Maverick is searching for a patient and loving family who will continue guiding him as he learns the ropes and give him the affection he truly deserves. Experience with his breed or a similar breed is essential to ensure his continued growth and success. Could that family be yours?

Something to Consider:
Puppies don't train themselves
If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.
Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.
