Do you see my tongue?? I mean, it looks almost ELECTRIC blue!! That is how you know I am a real chow boy, well, that and my chow 'tude!!
I know that so so many people love love my breed, and the rescue people are excited to find my forever family!! They will have to be very chow knowledgeable because not only am I a chow, I am a pup who was found scared and starving in the cold and rain. And I am slow to warm to new people.
So, I have learned to trust people since the rescue people take such great care of me, and I definitely need to meet my new family before we go on our merry way :)
I have a gorgeous black coat, a gorgeous black tongue and am ready for adoption!! I can't wait to meet you!!

Midge is a very gentle Basset Hound and Chinese Shar pei mix looking for a forever home.

She was taken in from a bad hoarding situation and is now doing living in a REAL foster home with other happy and loved friends and food and medical care too!! I am learning everyday what it means to be man's best friend and it is pretty sweet :)

Midge came to the rescue with little hair and skin infections and entropion on both eyes (meaning her eyelashes were scraping her eyes every minute of every day..... think about how miserable it is to have ONE eyelash in your eye ;( and STILL a sweet and loving personality, despite how she was physically. 
The rescue fixed all my stuff up and now I have gorgeous, shiny and thick black fur and my eyes don't hurt anymore!!! She would be best in a home with another calm and confident dog. 
No food issues, couchy potato in training!! 

Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

He is one soulful dude. He loves everyone unconditionally. Wants to be with you every minute. When you don't pay attention to him, he will stare at you with his soulful eyes. He loves to sleep on you or near you.
Potty trained, everyone friendly even cats.

He was in the Fiesta parade with the rescue this weekend and was so happy to be out having fun with his friends and making new friends!!! He is just the right social butterfly for an active and happy home!!
This boy is so great and will make someone a wonderful and social companion!!!

<p>If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.</p>


Puppies don't train themselves

<p>This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”</p>

<p>If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.</p>

<p>The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.</p>
