Hello, I'm Deacon!

In the church, deacons are meant to serve. They dedicate their lives to spreading the good word and helping those in the community that need it most. I think the only thing I've ever served are perfectly Frenchie snorts, grunts and toots! I've got all the spunk, character, and SNUGGLES people have come to love from my breed.

Despite my sunny demeanor, my life hasn't always been blue skies and rainbows. I was found lost and alone, with a very serious problem! I had a prolapsed rectum, likely due to genetics or food allergies. I have had corrective surgery for the prolapse but I'm still food sensitive and will need a strict diet and routine to keep my booty (and the surrounding area) diarrhea-free. I must not be fed too much. As a Frenchie, I will always want MORE. I also do better with frequent outings so would prefer a family that is home throughout the day or would teach me the doggy door. I have some accidents in my kennel overnight so, if you enjoy keeping your sheets clean, I will need my own space to sleep in.

Other than the above, I am easy peasy, cute and wheezy! I have made fast friends with everyone I've met so far. I love to play with toys, other dogs and my people, large or small. I have no problem hanging out in my crate and I do well on car rides. I'm so ready for a new family to love me fur-ever! Apply today!

If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.

Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.

Puppies don't train themselves

This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”

If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.
&nbsp;
The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.
