Virtually Foster A Dog

Foster a four-legged friend from afar. Our Virtual Foster program is a monthly donation system to help support shelter dogs without physically having to foster them within your home.
With more than 1,200 dogs rescued by God’s Dogs each year, our shelter facilities are constantly at max capacity and resources can become scarce. Raising funds through our monthly Virtual Foster program helps provide top-quality care for our four-legged friends, including supplies, food, and medical care.

Dogs Available For Virtual Foster Program

Select your foster dog from our list of available virtual fosters. Our team selects a number of pups that have been at our facility for 6 months or more or require additional medical attention.

Select a monthly donation level from three available donation tiers and the duration of your donation &#8211; 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. Each tier provides different levels of virtual foster care.

Pledge

Feel good about your donation. We know that commitment to fostering is a big one and takes great patience and care. Your monthly donation not only helps your virtual foster, but the staff and facilities to care for these beloved four-legged friends.

Social media is a powerful platform to promote your virtual foster dog! Let your family and friends know you are helping us look for a wonderful home for your virtual foster. Show your foster dog off to all you know and maybe you will find them their next family member!

We would be thrilled if one of our virtual foster rescues finds their fur-ever home! Virtual foster dogs are selected based on their longevity of stay in our rescue facilities &#8211; typically being housed with us 6 months or more.If your virtual foster gets adopted, your funds go directly to supporting the care of other shelter dogs in our foster program.

We strive to provide a safe place for homeless, neglected, abandoned kittens, late term pregnant moms and mom cats with kittens. All of our GDR kitties are given age appropriate vaccines, dewormer and are spayed/neutered and forever homes are found for each.

If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.

Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.

Puppies don't train themselves

This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”

If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.
&nbsp;
The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.
